Sheehan
offers expert special capabilities within its pipeline construction services. At
Sheehan, one of our main assets is our ability to adapt to each individual
project. Our spreads have had years of experience in constructing all types
of pipeline projects.
Sheehan is
not only the oldest pipeline contractor in the nation, but in the past 24
years has become one of the nation's largest pipeline contractors. Sheehan
has completed more than 3200 miles of mainline construction and has tested or
rehabilitated over 3,000 miles of pipeline in the last 15 years. Our ability
to complete any project on time and at a competitive price has enabled us to
maintain such a record of performance. We
maintain three large cross-country spreads capable of building up to 42"
pipe. In addition, we also can staff two smaller rehabilitation or testing
spreads. Our
flexibility is emphasized by the fact that we annually work in over 12 states
from coast to coast. We have the equipment and the manpower to adapt to
almost any type of project. Sheehan
again proved its innovation ability when it became the first gas pipeline
contractor to use Micro-Tunneling. We completed the nearly 700' of 42"
pipe, crossing the Rock Slough in California.
Sheehan
Pipe Line Construction Company's (SPLCC) most important and valuable assets
are its people. The
founder of the company, John Sheehan was succeeded by his two sons, Ray and
John B. Sheehan. John's son, Robert D. Sheehan, also managed the company beginning
in 1946. Bob was recognized as one of the most respected men in the pipeline
industry, as evidenced by the fact that he was a past President and Honorary
Member of the Pipe Line Contractors Association. R. David
Sheehan Jr., Bob's son, was active in the company since his work on projects
during the summers beginning in 1964. David participated in management since
1970, working as a Foreman, Office Manager, Estimator and Engineer. In late
1988, David took over management of the company. He retired from management
in 2010. Robert A.
Riess, Sr. joined the company in November, 2004 as President & COO. Rob
brings with him valuable gas company and pipeline contractor experience. In 2011 he was promoted to CEO. Shane J.
Grivna, CPA, serves as Vice President & CFO and has since 2007. Robert
Bendure, as Vice President of Estimating, directs the Estimating function and
assists in Project Management. Leonard
Pataki, General Counsel and Director of Administration, rounds out the
executive management group. John
Gaines manages the multi-million dollar investment in equipment as Director,
Equipment and Purchasing for our Lawrenceville, Illinois warehouse. Kenny Dean
leads the Health, Safety, and Environmental functions as Director. As SPLCC
prepares for the next campaign and beyond, the company is adapting to the
changing paradigms of pipeline construction by blending years of experience
with highly skilled new personnel. Sheehan's
employees have always been the key part of the company's overall success and
tradition. These men and women possess more than 1700 years of pipeline
experience. Most are well known throughout the industry for their dedication,
knowledge and technical skill to exactly perform each job the company
undertakes with excellence. That total
of over 1700 years of experience has carried Sheehan through its colorful 108
year history and forms the base upon which the company will build for the
future. Sheehan...The
Nation's Most Reliable Firm in Construction of Pipelines Since 1903.
