Robert A. Riess, Sr.
President and CEO

Mr. Riess graduated from the University of Missouri – Rolla in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.  He began his career in the Natural Gas Energy business with Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation.  During his twelve (12) years with Texas Eastern, he held various positions within the Construction Department, including Manager of Construction.  His final years with Texas Eastern were spent managing the Company’s Environmental issues with PCB’s as General Manager of Environmental Services.

In June 1991, Mr. Riess joined Sheehan Pipe Line Construction Company as Project Administrator.  During his four (4) years with the company, he was primarily responsible for the management of the field operations and pipeline projects.

Mr. Riess joined ARB, Inc., a multi-disciplined construction company, with its primary focus in the Energy sector in March 1995.  In his position as Vice-President, he was responsible for the company’s Underground Division which consists primarily of pipeline construction east of the Rocky Mountains.  He also managed the company’s Horizontal Directional Drilling Division and its International Operations.  Projects ranged from HDD activities in Alaska, India, Uzbekistan, Taiwan, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Guam and the United States and pipeline projects in Chile, Mexico, Ecuador, Philippines and the United States.

In November 2004, Mr. Riess rejoined Sheehan Pipe Line Construction Company as President.   In 2006, he became a Partner of the firm, ascending to President and Chief Executive Officer.  

 

 

Shane Grivna, CPA
Vice President and CFO

Mr. Grivna graduated from The University of Tulsa in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, majoring in Accounting.

He began his career with KPMG Peat Marwick in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a Staff Auditor.  He served a variety of clients in many industries with an emphasis on manufacturing and insurance.  He was promoted to Senior Staff Auditor and was responsible for supervising and planning audits.

In 1993, he joined Sheehan as an Accountant and spent the next three years focusing on financial reporting and numerous special projects.

Mr. Grivna left the company in 1996 and went to work for American Airlines as a Financial Analyst and subsequently for Contract Freighters, Inc. (CFI) in Joplin, Missouri as Internal Audit and Systems Development Manager.  While with CFI, he managed the financial systems and processes including the Year 2000 software remediation project.

Before returning to Sheehan in late 2007 to replace the retiring Vice President and CFO, he also served as Vice President and CFO for Russell Belden Electric Company, an electrical distributor based in Joplin, Missouri.

Mr. Grivna earned his C.P.A. in 1991 and has been both a registered brokerage representative and life insurance agent in Oklahoma previously.

 

Leonard Pataki
Vice President of Administration and General Counsel

Mr. Pataki graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1975, with a Bachelor of Science Degree and earned Juris Doctor degree with honors from Oklahoma City University in 1977, where he was one of the founding members of the Oklahoma City University Law Review.  After graduation, he served as a law clerk to three United States District Court Judges in the Northern District of Oklahoma.  Following his judicial clerkships, he joined the Tulsa firm of Doerner, Saunders, Daniel & Anderson, LLP in 1982, where he was a partner from 1989 until joining Sheehan in June of 2008.  He remains Of Counsel to the Doerner, Saunders firm.  

Mr. Pataki’s practice with the Doerner, Saunders firm concentrated in the areas of  Labor Relations,  General Labor and Employment Law, Construction Law and Litigation, and Commercial Law and Debtor/Creditor Relations.  He is listed in “Best Lawyers in America,” and is a contributing author for the “Oklahoma Employment Law Letter” as well as a speaker at many law related seminars and educational programs.  Mr. Pataki brings over 25 years of experience in representing construction companies and other businesses to Sheehan.

Mr. Pataki is a member of the Oklahoma and Tulsa County Bar Associations, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.  Prior to joining Sheehan, he also practiced before the National Labor Relations Board, and the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, in addition to numerous State Occupational Safety and Health Commissions, other administrative agencies, and both State and Federal courts.  Mr. Pataki is a member of the Occupational Safety and Health Law Committee of the American Bar Association Labor Law Section, the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association, and the Commercial Law League of America.  He is also an Associate Municipal Judge for the City of Tulsa, and an Adjunct Settlement Judge for the United States Bankruptcy Court.

 

Robert Bendure
Vice President of Operations

Mr. Bendure graduated from the University of Arkansas with the degrees of Bachelors of Arts and Juris Doctor.  He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the American Bar Association and is a member in good standing of the Oklahoma Bar. 

In 1985 Robert began working for Sheehan in the summers while attending college performing various duties including those of a Laborer, Payroll Clerk, Office Manager, and Project Engineer.  He began full time employment for the company in 1995 as a Project Administrator and was named Manager, Projects in 2001, serving in this capacity until he was named Vice President of Estimating in 2010.  In November 2013, he moved to Vice President of Operations.

Robert is the 3rd generation of Bendures to have worked for Sheehan with both his father and grandfather having worked as Superintendents for many years with the company until their respective retirements.

 

 

Kenny Dean
Director - Health, Safety, and Environmental

Mr. Dean graduated from Bacone College of Nursing in1984 as a Registered Nurse and spent the next several years working in emergency medicine and occupational health and safety.  In 1992, while working for Sequoyah Fuels Corporation, a nuclear fuels production facility, as the Occupational Health and Emergency Plan Coordinator, Kenny earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology – Supervision of Safety from Northeastern State University, Oklahoma.

During the next thirteen years, Kenny worked in Health, Safety and Environmental Management positions for major manufacturing and construction companies such as Thomas & Betts Corporation, the Patterson-Kelley Division of Harsco Corporation and Linde BOC Process Plants, LLC, all located in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area but with responsibility for multiple facilities across the United States.

During Kenny’s Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental career, he has also served as a commissioned officer (Lieutenant Colonel) in the Oklahoma Army National Guard where his duties during the past twenty-two years have included serving as the Oklahoma State Occupational Health Nurse, Troop Command Safety Officer, Commander of two Medical Companies and five Active Duty overseas tours.  Kenny also served as the Chief of Staff for the Office for the Administrative Review of the Detention of Enemy Combatants (OARDEC) at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Mr. Dean joined Sheehan Pipe Line Construction Company in August of 2005 and with the assistance of more than fifteen Safety Professionals and office staff, directs the efforts of Sheehan’s Health, Safety and Environmental Department.  Kenny’s areas of responsibility include management of Team Sheehan’s Workers Compensation Program, Anti-Drug and Alcohol Program, OSHA and EPA Compliance, Operator Qualification and Training Program, General Liability Insurance and Project Bonding.

 
 

G. Alex Jordan
Vice President of Estimating

Mr. Jordan immediately began his career in the pipeline industry after graduating high school, thus making him a third generation pipeliner.  Alex joined Sheehan in May of 2012 as an Estimator and Project Manager. 

Prior to joining Sheehan, Alex held various positions within the industry such as a Laborer, Operator, Project Foreman, Project Superintendent, Project Manager, and Estimator as well as serving as President for two pipeline construction companies. 

In November 2013, Alex was promoted to the position of Vice President of Estimating.
